Staff Profile: Get to Know Erin Ard
Occasionally, Health in Motion profiles its team members so you can get to know a little more about the people working so hard behind the scenes to deliver industry-leading, pharmacy-innovating tools and resources.
How long have you been with Health in Motion Network and in what capacity?
I joined in June 2021, and am the Program Implementation Manager. I manage implementation of the Parawell platform for our group of Navigator stores, and any other pharmacy or group using Parawell. I collect and share user feedback with our development team to help enhance the platform and user experience. Develop plans and SOPs to stay organized and work efficiently. CRM database management and maintenance.
What is something about your work you find personally motivating?
Seeing and hearing the excitement and emotional response from our pharmacists when they discover what they can do, and how they can help their patients with the Parawell platform. You know what you are doing is impacting lives for the better – even if it is one patient at a time, and one store at a time. They appreciate what we are doing at HIMN and that feels good.
What is something meaningful you’ve learned in your career that you apply in your work with Health in Motion Network?
I was told once by a former boss “do not come to me with a problem, come to me with a solution”. This didn’t mean – figure it out for yourself, it meant take the time to think through the problem, look at it from a different perspective, ask questions, come up with a plan – and then work together to resolve. You don’t always have to be right, but you have to be ready to contribute and to learn. At Health in Motion Network, we are a growing company, constantly evolving and enhancing our product, which obviously comes with its challenges – changing plans, shifting gears, discovering new ways to achieve our goals - working closely and effectively with different team members at all levels. So, when a problem does arise, I am confident I can bring a solution to the table that will be heard and discussed, we will collaborate, share ideas, give feedback, and the problem will be solved; and we will have learned from it.
What are your personal priorities outside of work? How do you spend your time? What energizes you?
My kids – I have 2 boys, 11 and 7 (almost 8). They have so many interests and are always on the go. From sports practices/games, band concerts, STEM activities, riding bikes, exploring new parks, summer beach trips and swimming at the pool – they keep me energized for sure.
